Warriors Move On with 11-7 Victory over Falcons

The Nelson Warriors (26-24, 2-1) picked up their second win of the 2026 NCCAA Baseball World Series, defeating the #10 Kansas Christian College Falcons 11-7 this afternoon, their first game in the consolation bracket. The Falcons became the Warriors' opponent today with a morning upset of #3 Ecclesia College, after a six-run fifth inning that for all intents and purposes put the game away early.
The Warriors erupted for seven runs in the bottom of the first inning to take immediate control. With the bases loaded and one out, Brandon Ramirez ripped a single to right that scored two runs. Adrian Nunez followed on the very next pitch, crushing a bases-clearing home run to right-center for a 4-0 lead. Later in the inning, with the bases loaded again and two outs, Gerardo Paco delivered a bases-clearing single to center and advanced to second on an error, making it 7-0 after just one inning.
Kansas Christian fought back with three runs in the second and one in the third, but Nelson responded with key insurance runs. Adrian Nunez tripled to score Brandon Ramirez in the fifth (watch the video HERE!), and Ethan Gustafson added a sacrifice fly in the sixth to push the lead back to five runs.
The Falcons kept it interesting with three runs in the top of the seventh, but the Warriors answered immediately in the bottom half when Shae Doree doubled to left-center to drive in two more runs. Esteban Acevedo came on in relief and closed the door, inducing a critical double-play in the ninth to seal the 11-7 victory, and eliminating the Falcons in the process.
This win keeps Nelson alive in the consolation bracket. They will face #2 seed Mission University tomorrow at 12:30 PM as they continue their fight in the national tournament.
